The Boys Reading project has released the second newsletter providing information on the progress of the project. The main topics of the newsletter include the national research that presents an overview of the existing situation in partner counties, the results from the focus groups with students, teachers, parents and librarians, the second consortium meeting and the upcoming project activities.

Innovade in collaboration with CARDET, FFST from Croatia and partners from Austria, Portugal, Greece, and Romania have been awarded the project Boys Reading, under the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnerships programme of the European Commission. The kick off meeting took place in Split Croatia in 30-31, October, 2014. The full project plan was discussed and finalized with contribution from all partners.

Innovade announces the 7th Innovative Learning Environmentsconference to take place on Saturday October 18, 2014 (8:30am to 2:00pm) at the UNESCO amphitheatre of the University of Nicosia. The event is organized by CARDET, the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, and the School of Education and the UNESCO Chair of the University of Nicosia.

The AlphaEU project aims to promote the acquisition of multilingual awareness and language skills of pre-schoolers in various European countries, by developing, piloting, and implementing digital alphabet books and alphabet-related games and interactive activities. Targeted alphabets/languages include: English, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. Bringing very young children into contact with foreign languages may result in faster language learning, improved mother tongue skills, and better performance in other areas.

The research goal of this project was to examine the reading habits of primary school children and develop programs to support literacy and reading at an early age.
