GreenEDU: Closing the gaps between HE and the green economy

Published in Projects

GreenEDU is an initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. The project is designed to empower higher education (HE) institutions by equipping both educators and students with the green and digital skills necessary to actively participate in the evolving green economy and tackle environmental degradation.

The project focuses on building the capacity of HE staff to design and implement comprehensive Green Higher Education Action Plans. It also introduces cutting-edge tools, such as Mobile Augmented Reality, to support innovative teaching methods that address real-world environmental challenges.

Key objectives of GreenEDU include:

  • Enhancing the ability of HE staff to implement sustainable action plans within their institutions.
  • Training HE educators to integrate Mobile Augmented Reality in their teaching to promote green and digital competencies.
  • Equipping HE students with practical skills aligned with green economy demands.
  • Raising awareness among students about the green transition and future labour market needs.
  • Developing innovative pedagogical resources and learning materials to support sustainability education.

Throughout its implementation, GreenEDU will host piloting workshops, evaluation activities, and four major dissemination events to share its outcomes with a wider audience and promote sustainable education across Europe.
