The SciFiEd project focuses on providing teachers with tools, training, and guidance that will assist them in enhancing their teaching, making science more attractive to students, connecting it with real-life issues such as the environment, and providing girls and other marginalised groups access to science. The central project idea is to achieve this by incorporating Science Fiction in science teaching.

Online Game for Civic Engagement of EU Young Adults (ENGAME)

CARDET has been recently awarded a new project, under the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnerships programme of the European Commission, titled “Online Game for Civic Engagement of EU young adults” (ENGAME). The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Anatolia College of Thessaloniki and with partners from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Spain, and Austria.

Implementation of digital alphabet books and activities in Cyprus

Within the framework of the AlphaEU project , five digital alphabet books were developed in each of the six partner languages, along with accompanying activities.These books and activities were implemented in each of the project partner countries with teachers and parents of children aged 2-6; the results of the implementation were extremely positive and encouraging.

The advancement of mobile devices, smart phones, and tablets has led to an inevitable push to integrate mobile learning across education. In the early childhood sector, the use of mobile learning has been driven by the affordances of tablets and ubiquitous internet access. Within the framework of the AlphaEU project, five digital alphabet books were developed in English, Greek, Romanian, German, Portuguese, and Italian, along with accompanying activities. These books and activities were implemented in each of the project partner countries with teachers and parents of children aged 2-6; the results of the implementation were extremely positive and encouraging.

Mediterranean Migration Network International Conference

The Mediterranean Migration Network (MMN) held its annual International Conference, on Friday June 20th,2014, at the University of Nicosia, under the general title “Migration and Integration: the role of social services”.  The conference aimed at presenting the role of social services as an effective integration medium for migrants in the local EU communities, and to discuss the challenges the services face in in fulfilling this role. Participants in the conference included representatives from public services, embassies, civil society organizations, academics, international organizations and agencies, and the general public.

Adult Mediators’ Blended Training

In the framework of the AlphaEU project, an adult mediators’ blended training programme developed by the project consortium was completed in all the partner countries. The training consisted of two face-to-face meetings and a series of online activities that needed to be completed by the participants.
