Development of Model for Teaching and Learning Online

The main objectives of this program were to research, review and evaluate the needs of educators regarding educational technology issues and models of online education, as well as to design and develop a pilot program. The main deliverable of the project was to develop a model and course for preparing teachers and trainers to design and deliver online courses.

Lifelong Readers (LiRe)

As both literacy and lifelong learning are closely related to reading, the LiRe project aspires to bring about positive change in both areas, through coordinated efforts and collaboration in the field of reading promotion at the European level. The Lifelong Readers (LiRe) project aims, (i) to convince stakeholders about the need to devote more time and effort to reading promotion and to place reading for pleasure at the centre of their policies, approaches and practices, (ii) to provide stakeholders with guidance, training, and an array of tools for reading promotion in the primary school, and (ii) to initiate change by implementing reading promotion programmes in all participating countries.

Training for the Public Social Welfare Servants

The project aims to build the capacity of the of the Social Welfare Services (SWS) servants, in order to actively support and implement the employment policies of the Republic of Cyprus for vulnerable groups within the population receiving assistance from the SWS. Moreover the team delivered training in the areas of communication practices, time management, and consultation methods to unemployed persons.

Science Fiction in Education

The SciFiEd project focuses on providing teachers with tools, training, and guidance that will assist them in enhancing their teaching, making science more attractive to students, connecting it with real-life issues such as the environment, and providing girls and other marginalised groups access to science. The central project idea is to achieve this by incorporating Science Fiction in science teaching.

Learning Needs Assessment of Public Service Staff

This research project focused on conducting a learning needs assessment in the areas of leadership, strategy, and management. The target group were all managers in all government departments and Ministries. Focus groups, interviews, and questionnaires, were distributed to more than 1000 staff. Data analysis led to the development of a detailed proposal on training and development for Public Service managers and staff.
