The first issue of the Boys Reading newsletter has been now released. In this edition, there is a short description of the project, the objectives, the main outcome, an update on the progress of the project and the kick-off meeting and the upcoming project activities.

Innovade in collaboration with CARDET, FFST from Croatia and partners from Austria, Portugal, Greece, and Romania have been awarded the project Boys Reading, under the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnerships programme of the European Commission. The kick off meeting took place in Split Croatia in 30-31, October, 2014. The full project plan was discussed and finalized with contribution from all partners.

The aim of the Action is to exchange information and best practices with Mediterranean countries and Member States of the European Union (EU), and particularly their Local Authorities, which face similar challenges in respect to the management and the integration of Third Country Nationals in their local communities.

In the current times of economic turbulence and market shortcomings, where the majority of EU citizens are struggling to manage major social and personal financial challenges, there is an immediate need for the development of EU citizens’ financial literacy competencies.
