GreenYOU: Piloting the Digital Escape Rooms in Cyprus
- Published in News
The GreenYOU project has successfully completed the piloting of its Digital Escape Rooms, engaging 39 students aged 15-16 from Agios Antonios High School in Limassol. This initiative, part of the Erasmus+ programme, is implemented in Cyprus by CARDET and INNOVADE. It aims to equip young people with essential green skills, supporting the green transition and the shift towards a sustainable, climate-neutral society.
The GreenYOU Digital Escape Rooms are interactive educational tools designed to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Through quizzes and riddles, students explore key topics such as climate change, sustainability, green jobs, and digital and green competencies. These challenges encourage them to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and the opportunities available in green careers.
The pilot session began with an engaging “Would You Rather” activity, prompting students to make choices related to sustainability and climate change, sparking insightful discussions. This interactive introduction prepared them for the main activity, where they navigated the digital escape rooms on the GreenYOU e-learning platform. By tackling thought-provoking questions on climate change, sustainability, and green skills, students expanded their environmental knowledge and awareness.
Following the completion of the digital escape rooms, students shared their feedback and evaluation of the experience. Their insights will help refine the GreenYOU educational tools to better support youth in developing the competencies needed for the green transition.
